Job summary

Delano London is seeking an exceptional Storeman to join the pre-opening team in London. Reporting to the Director of Finance, you’ll handle receiving, storing and issuing goods for hotel departments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal controls and safety standards.

Set to open in 2026, Delano London will blend historic charm with contemporary luxury. The Storeman will maintain inventory records, ensure timely deliveries, and support end-of-month procedures to help launch a premium

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years in receiving or storeroom operations.
  • Familiar with hotel supply needs.
  • Experience with BirchStreet or Adaco preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receive all incoming deliveries and verify against purchase orders and packing slips.
  • Inspect goods for quantity, quality, and condition; report and document discrepancies, damages, or shortages.
  • Properly store all food, beverage, and general supplies in designated storage areas, ensuring FIFO and food safety standards.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storerooms, refrigerators, and freezers.
  • Accurately log received items into inventory systems and coordinate with Purchasing and Accounts Payable regarding receipts and invoices.
  • Issue requested items to departments according to approved requisitions and ensure accurate documentation of outgoing inventory.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with regular inventory counts and reconciliations.
  • Ensure all goods are stored in appropriate conditions and secured against loss or theft.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, delivery personnel, and department heads to ensure timely delivery and distribution of goods.
  • Follow all hotel and departmental procedures related to receiving, storage, issuance, and inventory control.
  • Maintain records of receipts, stock levels, and goods issued in accordance with audit and internal control requirements.
  • Report any inventory discrepancies, spoilage, or expired goods to the Assistant/Director of Finance immediately.
  • Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks or carts safely and efficiently.
  • Assist with end-of-month inventory procedures and prepare reports as requested.

This role plays a key part in ensuring that all hotel outlets receive the necessary materials in a timely and efficient manner. The Storeman maintains proper inventory levels, ensures goods are stored safely and securely, and verifies that deliveries meet the hotel’s specifications and quality standards.

Job Description
What you’ll do…

Qualifications
What we're looking for
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in receiving, storeroom, or warehouse operations, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
  • Basic knowledge of hotel department supply needs
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and procurement software (e.g., BirchStreet, Adaco) preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and ability to accurately count, record, and reconcile inventory.
  • Must be observant and able to respond quickly to discrepancies or supply issues.
  • Understanding of safety and sanitation standards related to food and supply storage.
  • Basic understanding of internal control practices and inventory documentation procedures.
  • Ensure manual handling policies and procedures are adhered to
