Job summary

West Midlands Fire Service is seeking a Storekeeper and Driver to join the Warehouse and Distribution team. The role involves warehouse and distribution duties, stock issuing, and transporting goods to Fire Stations and WMFS locations within the West Midlands region on a rotational basis with a fellow Storekeeper/Driver.

The successful candidate will have a full clean UK driving licence, be able to operate a Reach Truck, and be proficient with inventory systems (preferably Oracle Inventory).

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Category B licence required.
• Reach Truck operator qualification preferred.
• Proficient in computer systems.
• Completed manual handling training.
• Category C1 licence beneficial.
• Knowledge of handling hazardous materials desirable.

Responsibilities

• Process orders using inventory system, pick & pack goods and deliver to departments/stations.
• Work as part of a team to complete warehousing and driving duties.
• Answer internal and external telephone calls and emails.
• Deliver and collect goods within West Midlands area.
• Depute for W&D Manager when on leave or covering a colleague.
