Job summary

Matalan is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support the Store Manager in driving sales, profit and KPI attainment in a busy store location. You will lead and develop a high-performing team, deliver an engaging VM proposition and ensure excellent customer experience every day.

You will coach the team, analyse sales performance, and take responsibility for compliance and audits while supporting succession planning and development.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in retail management and leading high performing teams.
• Demonstrated ability to drive KPI targets and store performance.
• Strong customer engagement and service delivery.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Able to analyse sales data and translate into actions.
• Experience developing others and succession planning.

Responsibilities

• Support Store Manager to exceed sales and profit targets and deliver KPI's in store.
• Develop and lead a high performing team and deliver inspirational VM and stock availability.
• Drive performance through daily analysis of sales, floor walks and action delegation.
• Ensure compliance and audit activities across the store.
• Conduct regular performance reviews and identify development needs.
• Ensure VM guide is followed to deliver an inspirational shopping experience.
