Job summary

Willowbrook Hospice in Prescot (Knowsley) is seeking a Shop Supervisor to support the day-to-day running of the Prescot shop and maximise income for hospice care. You’ll supervise volunteers, lead merchandising efforts, and help online sales across our retail network.

This varied role offers frontline customer service, staff coordination and community engagement, with opportunities for training and development within a supportive charity team.

Qualifications

• Previous supervisory or management experience, ideally within retail or customer service.
• Enjoys leading and motivating volunteers and working with a wide range of people.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Proactive, dependable and able to work on own initiative.
• Delivers outstanding customer service with a positive, can-do attitude.
• Flexible and willing to support across multiple retail locations when required.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the day-to-day operation of the shop and providing cover in the absence of the Shop Manager.
• Supervising, supporting and training volunteers to create a positive and engaging environment.
• Maximising sales through effective merchandising, stock management and Gift Aid promotion.
• Delivering excellent customer service and maintaining high retail standards.
• Supporting volunteer recruitment and ensuring adequate staffing levels across trading hours.
• Assisting with stock distribution across the hospice retail network and supporting online sales activities.
• Building strong relationships within the local community to increase support for the Hospice.
