Job summary

The Yorkshire Trading Company is seeking a Part-time Store Assistant to support the store manager and deputise during absences. You will help train retail colleagues, manage stock and displays, and ensure pricing is accurate on the shop floor.

Join a growing, family-owned group with 42 stores, a busy ecommerce arm, and nationwide events. You’ll work 24 hours over 3 days, including some weekends, on a rota basis.

Qualifications

• Assist the store manager in day-to-day running.
• Deputise in the absence of the Store Manager (key holder).
• Support in training retail colleagues, including cashiers and replenishment staff.
• Maintain store displays, stock rotation and goods put away.
• Keep up-to-date with products, services and promotions.
• Handle customer questions, complaints and issues.
• Direct customers to racks and counters, delivering traditional customer service.
• Contribute to the team by completing related tasks as needed.
• Cashing up duties as required.
• Ensure pricing is correct.

24 Hours over 3 days, to include some weekends on a rota basis

The ideal candidate would benefit from being flexible as additional hours may be required at busy times

• To assist the store manager in the day to day running of the store
• Deputise in the absence of the Store Manager (key holder)
• Support in the management and training of retail colleagues, including cashiers and the replenishment team working on the shop floor.
• Work on store displays / stock rotation and put away
• Keep up-to-date with all of our products, services and promotions.
• Handle customer questions, complaints, and issues
• Direct customers by escorting them to racks and counters suggesting items, delivering great, traditional customer service
• Contributes to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Cashing up duties as and when required
• Ensure pricing is correct.
