Job summary

Harrods in Knightsbridge seeks an energetic Assistant Manager to lead a cleaning operation within Store Services. You will drive a high-performing team of 3 direct and 18 indirect reports, with a focus on staffing, coaching, and performance conversations to deliver excellence.

You will allocate and oversee Cleaning Operations, ensure sustainability commitments via recycling, manage materials and equipment, and adapt priorities as shifts unfold.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Assistant Manager in a cleaning environment or similar.
• Strong front-line leadership with your operatives and team leaders.
• Regular and good quality time spent at the front of the operation.
• Good understanding of HR policies and how to apply them.
• Calm, resilient approach and proactive problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of 3 direct and 18 indirect reports and manage performance dialogues.
• Organise allocation of Cleaning Operations and Team Leaders; adjust to business needs.
• Coach and train staff; oversee recycling activities per sustainability commitments.
• Manage cleaning materials, uniforms and equipment; ensure safety and availability.
• Balance routine cleaning, daily tasks and reactive needs throughout shifts.
