Job summary

Morrisons is seeking an Operations Manager to keep our stores running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. You will deputise for the Store Manager, lead from the front, and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment where colleagues feel valued and supported.

You will coach department managers, drive high standards, and own store operations, ensuring food safety, hygiene, and daily routines are delivered across shifts. A track record in large, fast-paced retail operations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in the retail industry, with a track record of successfully managing a large, fast-paced store operation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and empower the team: Build management capability across the store, mentoring talent and supporting department heads with clear plans to help them grow.
• Keep standards high, safe, and legal: Act as the store's expert on safe and legal standards, ensuring food safety laws, hygiene, and daily routines are delivered properly every shift.
• Drive sales and availability: Use your commercial mindset to review store data, spot opportunities, and manage resources so our shelves are always well-stocked for our customers.
• Listen and improve: Work to support teams through change, listening directly to customer feedback and acting on it to keep making our daily service better.
