Job summary

Everpool Recruitment is seeking an experienced Store Manager for a busy national schoolwear retailer in Reading. You will lead day-to-day store operations, drive exceptional customer service, manage a team, and meet financial targets.

The role requires strong leadership, store optimization, and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment, with responsibilities spanning stock control, banking, reporting, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a management role.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities.
• Experience managing operational and financial responsibilities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and NetSuite or similar systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage stock control and inventory levels.
• Maintain shop floor and stockroom standards.
• Lead and support branch supervisors.
• Manage branch financial responsibilities including staffing budgets and petty cash.
• Ensure customer orders are processed efficiently and accurately.
• Complete daily banking procedures and end-of-month reports.
• Ensure branch dispatch targets are achieved.
• Recruit, train, develop and retain team members.
• Deliver ongoing training and development.
• Identify performance issues and implement improvement plans.
