Job summary

AkzoNobel Store Lead in Liverpool, L5 9YN is seeking an experienced retail leader to support a cluster of Dulux Decorator Centre stores. You will mentor the sales team, drive customer-focused service and manage day-to-day store operations to meet business targets.

The role requires an understanding of P&L principles, stock control, and the ability to build strong relationships with customers. A hands-on leader who communicates effectively and thrives in a collaborative environment is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in supervising a store and reviewing people/business performance.
• Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Calm under pressure and well organised with eye for detail.

• Support the Cluster Manager to deliver a culture of engagement.
• Collaborate with the Cluster Manager in the nurturing of a high performing sales team to deliver an outstanding customer experience.
• Help ensure stores have the right culture, processes and controls in place.
• Collaborate with the Cluster Manager in the ownership of the P&L with an emphasis on delivering sales, while optimising margin, cost efficiency & protecting against stock/cash losses.
• Ensure we maintain a market leading service experience for our customer.
• Develop customer contact plans.
• Collaborate with the Cluster Manager to review performance & review trends.

Job Purpose

An important member of the Dulux Decorator Centre (DDC) store management team, you will support a Manager responsible for the performance of a cluster of DDC stores to increase sales and market share by building effective partnerships with customers as well as developing and engaging the store sales team to meet business targets.

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded leader who can inspire a team, deliver excellent customer service, and drive sales performance. Ideally, candidates will have previous experience in retail, trade, or customer-facing management roles and be confident managing day-to-day store operations, stock, compliance, and team development. The successful candidate will be customer-focused, highly organised, and capable of building strong relationships with both new and existing customers. A hands‑on approach, strong communication skills.
