Job summary

Mitie Group plc. in Leeds is hiring a Store Detective to deter theft and protect stock across our client stores. You will use your observational skills to identify and respond to criminal activity, report incidents, and liaise with police when needed.

The role requires a valid SIA licence, a full UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle, and a strong customer service background. You will work in a fast-paced environment across regional stores and may attend court as required.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence.
• Full UK Driving Licence and access to own vehicle.
• Customer-facing experience with a strong customer service background.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, preferably with GCSE or equivalent in English.
• Proactive, forward-thinking and keen to improve working practices.
• Self-motivated, positive and able to demonstrate a genuine can-do attitude.
• Strong observational skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations and make quick decisions.
• Confidence to challenge people when necessary.
• Ability to use modern surveillance systems such as CCTV.

Responsibilities

• Observe, deter and arrest those taking part in criminal activity.
• Issue civil recovery where applicable.
• Liaise with police forces and other crime prevention partners to keep up to date with crime trends.
• Build a local network to identify and disrupt crime.
• Report incidents accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Occasionally attend court to provide evidence.
