Job summary

Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services in Leeds is seeking a Store Detective to operate across their network of stores, using keen observation to help prevent theft of stock and support the identification, apprehension and prosecution of criminals.

The role requires a valid SIA licence, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work across regions. You will report incidents, liaise with police, and build local crime-disruption networks while delivering excellent customer-service standards.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA licence.
• Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
• Excellent observation and reporting skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication (GCSE English or equivalent).
• Ability to use CCTV and modern surveillance systems.
• Customer-facing experience and proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Observe, deter and arrest those taking part in criminal activity.
• Issue civil recovery where applicable.
• Liaise with police forces and crime prevention partners to stay updated on trends.
• Build a local network to identify and disrupt crime.
• Report incidents accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Occasionally attend court to provide evidence.
