Job summary

Kingdom Group, a trusted partner of Tesco Supermarkets, is seeking an experienced Store Detective to join our retail security team across Tesco stores in the South Yorkshire area. The role focuses on preventing theft, reducing losses, and protecting customers, colleagues and assets.

You will hold a valid SIA Licence, have prior Store Detective or Loss Prevention experience, and travel between stores using your own transport. The position is full-time and permanent, with 40 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Licence.
• Proven experience as Store Detective, Loss Prevention Officer, or similar.
• Excellent observation, communication, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to provide a full five-year checkable employment history.
• Own transport is essential due to travel between stores.

Responsibilities

• Monitor store activity to identify and prevent theft, fraud, and other criminal activity.
• Conduct plain-clothes surveillance and investigations.
• Gather and preserve evidence, including CCTV footage and witness statements.
• Recover unpaid goods and apprehend offenders in accordance with procedures and laws.
• Complete detailed incident and investigation reports.
• Share intelligence with store management and security teams.
• Liaise with police and external agencies when required.
• Provide crime prevention advice and support to store colleagues.
• Maintain a professional and visible presence where necessary.
• Handle challenging situations calmly and safely.
