Job summary

Mitie Group plc. invites applications for a Store Detective to join the Total Security Management Team in Brighton. You will operate across a network of Co-op stores, using observation skills to prevent theft and support a safe shopping environment.

The role requires flexibility for various shift patterns and travel between locations, with a valid UK Driving licence and access to a vehicle. An SIA Front-Line Licence is preferred and CCTV licence would be beneficial.

Qualifications

• SIA licence is essential; Front‑Line licence preferred.
• CCTV licence would be beneficial.
• Strong customer service and client relationships.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle.
• Able to work flexibly across shifts and locations.

Responsibilities

• Work with security team to maintain a safe, crime-free shopping environment.
• Use conflict resolution to defuse difficult situations.
• Report to the Store Detective Team Leader.
• Be mindful of powers of arrest, detention and welfare responsibilities.
• Communicate effectively with officers and colleagues for coordinated crime prevention.
• Adapt store layout considerations to local demographics and risks.
