IKEA Wembley is looking for Store Assistants to join our team. You will focus on customer service and selling, keeping shelves full, tidy and ready to inspire every shopper who walks through our doors.

Bring your commitment to great service as you work in customer-facing roles, including sales, checkouts and stock replenishment. Roles are part-time with 16–30 hours weekly and a starting rate of £14.80 per hour. We offer flexible scheduling and opportunities for growth.

Responsibilities

• Adopt a flexible approach to cover all store areas, mainly Customer Services, Checkouts and Sales.
• Interact with guests to promote products and deliver a memorable shopping experience.
• Support sales by ensuring areas are clean, fully stocked, priced and well presented.
• Handle stock replenishment and occasional heavy lifting with safe manual handling.
• Use stock ordering processes to secure quality and prepare customer orders promptly.
• Follow all safety protocols for a secure environment for customers and colleagues.

• Competitive hourly rate of £14.80 per hour.
• 16 hour contracts, working 4 days per week with every fourth weekend off.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

• You will adopt a flexible approach to working, being part of a store team to take responsibility for all areas of the store. This will include customer facing roles, such as sales, checkouts, returns, fulfilment and stock replenishing. You will mainly be based within our Customer Services, Checkouts and Sales functions.
• You will use the IKEA vision of a better everyday life at home and prioritise the customer experience by interacting with guests and promoting products to align with their needs to create a memorable shopping experience.
• Support maximising sales by ensuring all areas of responsibility are clean, fully stocked, all products priced, well presented and easy to shop. Some products may involve heavy lifting.
• You may carry out manual handling and heavy lifting of various stock. Using pump trucks and trolleys to safely and efficiently transport heavy goods within the warehouse.
• You will need to use the appropriate stock ordering processes and systems to secure quality ingredients, support food safety, reduce waste, and pick and prepare customer orders in a timely manner.
• Ensure all safety protocols and regulations are followed for a secure environment for both our customers and co-workers.
