Job summary

Toolstation in the UK is hiring a Store Apprentice. You’ll earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in customer service, product knowledge, merchandising, business operations, and safety procedures.

This is a fast-paced role with early starts and late finishes. You’ll be supported by your Store Manager and a dedicated apprenticeship coach as you grow, with clear progression opportunities within the Travis Perkins Group.

Qualifications

• No retail experience required.
• Customer service focus and communication skills desirable.
• Willingness to learn and commit to early starts and late finishes.

Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand needs and provide excellent service.
• Assist with store operations: receive deliveries, stock shelves, and support warehouse tasks.
• Maintain a clean, organized store and ensure safety for colleagues and customers.
• Learn on the job with coursework supported by the Store Manager and apprenticeship coach.
• Contribute to a positive team environment and demonstrate reliability and flexibility.

Job description

Our stores are open from 7 AM to 8 PM, so you must be able to manage early starts and late finishes. Please be aware that we are unable to accept your application if you are already, or planning to be in a form of Government paid study.

• Engage with customers: Understand their needs and provide excellent service through genuine conversations.
• Get involved in store operations: Handle deliveries, stock shelves, and assist with warehouse tasks - be prepared to roll up your sleeves! • Keep things running smoothly: Maintain a clean and well-organised store, ensuring everything is ready for our customers and safe for our colleagues.
• Learn while working: Set aside time each week to complete coursework, supported by your Store Manager and a dedicated apprenticeship coach

• Reliability & flexibility: Show commitment to your team and customers, and adapt to the varied tasks that come your way.
• Energy & enthusiasm: No retail experience is required, just a willingness to learn and a drive to succeed.
