Job summary

Lorien is currently recruiting for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join a leading higher education organisation on an initial 6-month contract in London. The role focuses on enterprise storage, backup and infrastructure support, with a day rate of £465 Umbrella and a 36.5 hour week.

You will administer and support NetApp storage and backup environments, perform troubleshooting, and contribute to the resilience of the infrastructure estate. Start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Hands-on administration and support of NetApp storage systems and NetApp ONTAP/Clustered ONTAP.
• Strong understanding of aggregates, volumes, LUNs, qtrees and Storage Virtual Machines (SVMs).
• Experience with NFS and CIFS/SMB.
• Experience with snapshots and SnapMirror.
• Supporting enterprise storage architecture and operations.
• Capacity planning and performance tuning.
• Supporting high availability environments, HA pairs and clustering.
• Firmware and ONTAP upgrades.
• Storage migrations and data life cycle management.
• Strong understanding of enterprise backup strategies, retention policies and life cycle management.
• Good understanding of RPO, RTO and disaster recovery principles.
• Experience with enterprise backup platforms such as Cohesity and/or Rubrik.
• Experience backing up and restoring enterprise databases.
• Experience protecting VM-based infrastructure.
• Understanding of image-level backups and application-consistent snapshots.
• Experience working within broad 3rd-line support queues.
• General infrastructure support including operating systems, entry-level VMware, NTFS permissions and systems administration.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently within a complex enterprise environment.
• Clear documentation and communication skills.

Senior Cloud Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Senior Cloud Engineer to join a leading higher education organisation on an initial 6-month contract.

Rate: £465 per day Umbrella

The Role

The successful candidate will have strong hands-on experience across enterprise storage, backup and infrastructure support. You will be responsible for administering and supporting enterprise storage and backup environments, troubleshooting complex technical issues and contributing to the ongoing operation and resilience of the infrastructure estate.

• Hands-on administration and support of NetApp storage systems and NetApp ONTAP/Clustered ONTAP.
