Elix Sourcing Solutions is seeking an experienced Stock Controller/Inventory Specialist in the Somerset area. The role focuses on maintaining accurate real‑time inventory, ensuring smooth production support, and efficient warehouse operations in a busy food manufacturing environment.

You will manage stock, receive and inspect deliveries, and work closely with purchasing to optimise stock levels. A forklift license is preferred and day shifts are available, with flexibility on start/finish times.

Qualifikationen

• Proven experience in Stock Control or Inventory role.
• Food manufacturing, FMCG or temperature‑controlled logistics preferred.
• Valid forklift licence or MHE certification.

• Monitor and maintain real-time inventory records across product lines.
• Manage stock rotation and warehouse organisation to minimise waste.
• Receive deliveries, inspect goods and complete paperwork.
• Pick, batch and prepare materials to support production schedules.
• Operate material handling equipment safely.
• Label and stage pallets for outgoing transport.
• Conduct physical stocktakes and cycle counts to resolve discrepancies.
• Collaborate with purchasing and supply chain teams to maintain stock levels.

Stock Controller / Inventory Specialist

£30,000 - £32,000 per annum

Monday - Friday | Day Shift (Flexibility on start/finish times)

Somerset area (commutable from Yeovil, Sherborne, Taunton, Ilminster, Wincanton)

Are you an experienced Stock Controller or Inventory Specialist looking for a key role within a established food production environment?

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Stock Controller to manage inventory workflows, maintain stock accuracy, and ensure continuous availability for our manufacturing lines.

This is a hands‑on position ideal for an organised logistics professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong material handling and inventory systems skills.

The Role

• Monitoring and maintaining accurate real-time inventory records across all product lines
• Managing stock rotation and warehouse organisation to minimise waste and optimise space
• Receiving incoming deliveries, inspecting goods for quality, and completing receiving paperwork
• Picking, batching, and preparing materials to support daily production schedules
• Operating material handling equipment and forklifts to safely transfer and store goods
• Accurately picking, labelling, and staging pallets for outgoing transport
• Conducting physical stocktakes and periodic cycle counts to resolve stock discrepancies
• Working closely with purchasing and supply chain teams to maintain optimal stock levels

The Candidate

• Proven experience in a Stock Control, Inventory Control, or Stores Officer role
• Background within food manufacturing, FMCG, or temperature‑controlled logistics is preferred
• Valid licence/certification to operate forklift trucks or materials handling equipment
• Strong accuracy and attention to detail when handling documentation and inventory counts
• Good physical fitness and comfort working within an active warehouse environment *Reliable, self‑motivated, and able to organise daily workloads independently
• Solid communication skills and basic computer literacy for inventory tracking
