Job summary

Loom Talent is seeking a proactive Stock Controller for a Bedfordshire-based, multi-site logistics operation. You will drive stock accuracy, analyse trends, and collaborate across teams to deliver measurable improvements on data, processes and reporting.

You will combine warehouse floor activity with data analysis, owning discrepancies and supporting continuous improvement across sites. A hands-on, collaborative approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in stock control or inventory management.

• Experience in logistics distribution and supply chain environment.

Responsibilities

• Investigate stock discrepancies and implement solutions to improve stock accuracy and reduce losses.
• Analyse inventory data, performance metrics and trends to uncover opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
• Turn data into clear, meaningful insights that help teams make better decisions.
• Work closely with Site Managers, warehouse colleagues, customers and our Data Analysis Manager to strengthen stock integrity and reporting.
• Lead stock takes and ensure cycle counts are completed accurately and consistently across sites.
• Review warehouse layouts, processes and stock adjustment trends to identify and deliver improvements.
• Maintain accurate master data and help develop more effective Warehouse Management System (WMS) processes.
• Get involved in operational projects that support business growth and better ways of working.

Salary & Benefits: Up to £35,000+ Holidays & Package.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday

Loom Talent are proud to have been exclusively appointed to lead the hiring strategy for a new role, Stock Controller, based in Bedfordshire.

Working for a well-established, growing, in house logistics business that has retained a personal culture while becoming a sophisticated, multi-site operation. With six warehouse locations, around 600,000 sq. ft. of warehousing, and a fleet of 80+ vehicles.

My Client, is looking for a proactive, analytical and people-focused Stock Controller to help them maintain exceptional stock accuracy, improve warehouse performance and deliver the high levels of service our customers expect.

What will you be doing?

You’ll be at the heart of our warehouse operations, connecting data, people and processes to drive continuous improvement.

Your role will include:

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate for the role of Stock Controller is naturally curious, enjoys a challenge and isn’t afraid to ask questions or suggest a better way.

You’ll ideally have:

• Experience in stock control, inventory management or a similar role.
• Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail.
• Experience in Logistics Distribution and Supply Chain Environment.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; Power BI experience would be a bonus.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex information simply.
• A logical, solutions-focused mindset and an interest in continuous improvement.
• Strong organisation and planning skills, with the ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities.
• A collaborative approach, balanced with the confidence to work independently and take ownership.
• Previous warehouse experience, ideally within a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Above all, someone who enjoys working with people just as much as working with data, is keen to learn, and wants to make a genuine difference
