Job summary

Apex M&E Solutions Ltd is recruiting Stock Condition Surveyors for contract roles across the Birmingham area. You will conduct inspections and data collection for local authorities, universities and housing associations, supporting asset management and life-cycle planning.

DBS clearance is required due to work in occupied buildings and public sector environments. Typical workload ranges from 30 surveys per week, with some weeks reaching 50–60 surveys.

Qualifications

• Experience in building surveying or property inspection roles.
• Knowledge of stock condition surveys, HHSRS, or asset management is beneficial.
• DBS clearance is essential or able to pass a DBS check.

• Supporting project delivery, contract administration and tenant liaison to maximise access and survey completion.
• Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards such as the decent homes act and Awaab’s Law.

Job description

We are currently recruiting for Stock Condition Surveyors on behalf of a construction and infrastructure consultancy providing consultancy, project management, commercial/cost management and surveying services.

Operating over 15 years, they have significant experience across many industry sectors, including civil, residential, aviation, commercial, rail, education, leisure, defence, retail, utilities and infrastructure.

You will be supporting the delivery of stock condition surveys and asset data programmes for local authorities, universities, housing associations, and public sector clients.

The role will involve undertaking property inspections, condition assessments, and data collection using digital survey technology across a range of residential and public sector assets. Experience in stock condition surveys, asset management, HHSRS, or social housing would be beneficial, although candidates with transferable surveying experience are also encouraged to apply.

These are contract roles covering the Birmingham area. Work is expected to go on until March. Typically we look for a minimum of 30 surveys a week. Some surveyors are doing 50 – 60 surveys every week. Below are the rates per survey:

• Block £32 (on this project there are very few blocks and most are 4-6 dwellings, not huge tower blocks)
