Job summary

Bennett And Game Recruitment is seeking a Stock Condition Surveyor to cover education, public sector and commercial properties across Essex. The role blends site visits with home/office work.<\/p>

You will carry out detailed surveys, produce clear reports and support lifecycle planning while travelling to client sites and maintaining high standards of professional communication.

Qualifications

• Previous experience undertaking Stock Condition Surveys or Building Condition Surveys
• Qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Architectural Technology, Property or equivalent
• Good understanding of building construction, defects and maintenance
• Experience producing clear technical reports and recording survey data
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel regularly
• Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Undertake detailed stock condition surveys across education, public sector and commercial properties
• Inspect internal and external building elements, identifying defects and maintenance requirements
• Assess condition of building components and apply condition, priority and lifecycle ratings
• Produce accurate survey reports, photographic records and recommendations for repair or replacement
• Collect and record survey data using tablets and asset management software
• Support planned maintenance programmes, lifecycle planning and capital investment reporting
• Review existing property information, drawings and asset registers before surveys
• Escalate significant defects, compliance concerns and health & safety issues
• Liaise with clients, site representatives and stakeholders during surveys
• Attend office for meetings, reporting and project coordination
• Travel regularly to client sites throughout Essex, with occasional travel to surrounding areas

Our client is a well-established, multi-disciplinary property consultancy delivering Building Surveying, Project Management and consultancy services across the education, public and private sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Stock Condition Surveyor to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out stock condition surveys across a varied portfolio of predominantly education properties throughout Essex, with a mixture of home working, office attendance and regular site visits. Job Overview

• Undertake detailed stock condition surveys across education, public sector and commercial properties

Job Requirements

• Previous experience undertaking Stock Condition Surveys, Building Condition Surveys or similar property inspections
• Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Architectural Technology, Property or similar, or equivalent industry experience
• Good understanding of building construction, common defects and planned maintenance
• Experience producing clear technical reports and accurately recording survey data
• Competent using Microsoft Office and digital surveying or asset management software
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel regularly
• Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one

Desirable

• Experience surveying education or wider public sector estates
• Experience using specialist stock condition or asset management software
• Knowledge of planned maintenance and lifecycle reporting
• Membership of, or working towards, RICS or CIOB
