Job summary

Bimplus is seeking a Stock Condition Surveyor to undertake surveys across education and public sector properties with autonomy and regular site visits, covering Oxford, Cambridge and surrounding areas. The role is remote with regular site visits and travel to client sites, offering strong long-term career prospects.

You will inspect internal and external building elements, assess condition and lifecycle ratings, and produce accurate survey reports using tablets and specialist asset management

Qualifications

• Previous experience in stock condition or building surveys.
• Qualification in Building Surveying or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of building defects and maintenance planning.
• Experience producing clear survey reports.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and asset management software.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.

Job description

Our client is a well-established, multi-disciplinary property consultancy delivering Building Surveying, Project Management and consultancy services across the education, public and private sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Stock Condition Surveyor to join their expanding team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out stock condition surveys across a varied portfolio of predominantly education properties throughout Oxford, Cambridge and the surrounding areas. This is a remote role with regular site visits, offering excellent autonomy and the opportunity to join a growing consultancy with strong long-term career prospects.

Stock Condition Surveyor Job Overview

Undertake detailed stock condition surveys across education, public sector and commercial properties

Inspect internal and external building elements, identifying defects, deterioration and maintenance requirements

Assess the condition of building components and apply condition, priority and lifecycle ratings

Produce accurate survey reports, photographic records and recommendations for repair or replacement

Collect and record survey data using tablets and specialist asset management software

Support planned maintenance programmes, lifecycle planning and capital investment reporting

Review existing property information, drawings and asset registers before undertaking surveys

Escalate significant defects, compliance concerns and health & safety issues where appropriate

Liaise professionally with clients, site representatives and stakeholders throughout the survey process

Travel regularly to client sites across Oxford, Cambridge and the surrounding areas

Stock Condition Surveyor Job Requirements

Previous experience undertaking Stock Condition Surveys, Building Condition Surveys or similar property inspections

Relevant qualification in Building Surveying, Construction, Architectural Technology, Property or similar, or equivalent industry experience

Good understanding of building construction, common defects and planned maintenance

Experience producing clear technical reports and accurately recording survey data

Competent using Microsoft Office and digital surveying or asset management software

Excellent communication and organisational skills

Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel regularly

Experience surveying education or wider public sector estates very advantageous

Experience using specialist stock condition or asset management software

Knowledge of planned maintenance and lifecycle reporting

Membership of, or working towards, RICS or CIOB
