Job summary

Express Recruitment are supporting a global construction consultancy recruiting a Surveyor for a university project in London. The role focuses on stock conditioning and building surveying with strong attention to detail and collaboration with internal teams and contractors.

You will deliver surveys, reports and cost estimates to support planned maintenance, capital programmes and asset management across a university portfolio.

Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a global construction consultancy who are currently seeking to recruit a knowledgeable Surveyor to support them with a project on behalf of a reputable university who are based in London.

This role will be an excellent opportunity for someone who holds excellent attention to detail and is looking to build on their existing Stock Conditioning and Building Surveying experience, and in return you’ll be given the opportunity to work for a reputable, global construction firm.

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience conducting property-related surveys, assessments, inspections, and audits
• Experience managing or contributing to survey programmes and meeting agreed targets
• Background in preparing, monitoring, and supporting programmes of work based on stock condition or survey outputs
• Experience producing and managing schedules for repairs, renewals, improvements, and service charging
• Experience providing technical advice to operational teams and overseeing specialist surveys.
• Experience working within asset management, repairs, voids, compliance, or similar property-focused environments, including handling emergencies or out-of-hours issues
• Undertake stock condition, component lifecycle and surveys across the Council’s housing portfolio, accurately recording findings using mobile surveying systems
• Assess the condition, age and remaining life of building components to inform planned maintenance, capital programmes and asset management strategies
• Produce detailed survey reports, schedules of works and cost estimates to support investment planning and compliance programmes
• Identify defects, health & safety risks and non-compliance issues, recommending remedial actions in line with current housing standards and legislation
• Liaise with internal teams, contractors and residents to arrange access, explain findings and support delivery of improvement works
