Job summary

Bristol City Council is seeking a Stock Condition Surveyor for an initial 4-month contract in Bristol. The role is field-based across residential properties, with some remote administration.

You will assess condition, identify defects and gather data to inform maintenance and investment programs. Applicants should have prior surveying experience, strong organisational and communication skills, and hold a full UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience in property surveying or related construction discipline.
• Good understanding of building components and common defects.
• Strong organisational skills to manage workload independently.
• Confident communication with residents in a professional manner.
• Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle insured for business use.

Responsibilities

• Undertake stock condition surveys across occupied and vacant residential properties, including dwellings and blocks.
• Assess and record ages, condition and replacement needs of building components.
• Identify defects, hazards and compliance issues including HHSRS hazards.
• Collect accurate data to support asset management planning and investment decisions.
• Manage diary, appointments and survey workload, liaising with residents and stakeholders.
