Job summary

ESSENTIAL EMPLOYMENT LTD is seeking a Stock Condition Inspector in Bristol for a temporary role. You will conduct stock condition surveys across residential properties, collecting data on components, condition and compliance, and identify potential risks.

This position is field-based and requires a full driving licence and access to a vehicle. The role emphasises independent work, accurate data capture, and effective communication with customers from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications

• Experience in property surveying or asset management.
• Knowledge of building construction principles and housing standards.
• Relevant construction qualifications or certificates.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills; ability to communicate professionally with clients.

Responsibilities

• Carry out stock condition surveys across residential properties, collecting accurate data on components, condition, compliance and investment needs.
• Inspect occupied and vacant properties, identify defects, hazards and HHSRS risks.
• Maintain and improve asset data to support long-term investment planning and asset management.
• Communicate findings clearly to clients and support field-based inspections.

Job description

Stock Condition Inspector needed in Bristol

This is a temporary role and the rate is £210.00 per day PAYE

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out stock condition surveys across a diverse residential property portfolio, collecting accurate data on building components, condition, compliance requirements and future investment needs. Working independently and managing their own schedule, they will undertake inspections of both occupied and vacant properties, identifying defects, hazards and potential compliance issues, including HHSRS risks.

They will contribute to maintaining and improving the quality of asset data, supporting long-term investment planning and effective asset management. Candidates will bring property surveying experience, building construction knowledge or relevant construction qualifications, along with strong organisational skills and the ability to communicate professionally with customers from a wide range of backgrounds. Experience within social housing, asset management, EPCs, damp and mould assessments or housing compliance would be advantageous but is not essential. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use are required for this predominantly field-based role.
