Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a self-motivated sterile services technician to join the decontamination team in Exeter. You will decontaminate, inspect, and pack surgical instruments and medical devices, and operate washer-disinfectors and tracking systems to ensure safe, ready-to-use equipment.

You will work within strict quality standards, keep accurate records, and collaborate with colleagues to meet service demands.

Qualifications

• Must follow strict quality standards and procedures.
• Desirable but not essential: experience in sterile services or decontamination; full training provided.
• Ability to work in a technical, process-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination, inspection, assembly and packing of surgical instruments and medical devices.
• Operate washer-disinfectors, sterilisers and tracking systems.
• Maintain accurate documentation and traceability records.
• Ensure compliance with departmental procedures and HTM 01 01 guidance.
• Collaborate with colleagues to meet service demands and turnaround times.
• Support a clean, safe and well-organised working environment.
