An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Sterile Services Team Leader at RSUH, with cover also provided at the County site as required.
This is a fully flexible role with shift patterns that may change at short notice.
The post holder will work on a rota basis for 22.5 hours a week, with the remaining hours as a Band 2 Sterile Services Technician.
Pay scale – Band 4 with enhancement pay after 20:00 hours, as per Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
The successful candidates will join an environment that is practical, busy, and interesting, offering a valuable insight into the health service in North Midlands.
The Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit services include the supply and maintenance of surgical instruments used in procedures. Responsibilities involve checking items in, cleaning, disinfecting, packaging, sterilising, and delivering them back to theatres, wards, departments, clinics, and GP surgeries. The role involves manual handling of heavy sets, pushing and pulling trolleys, and operating processing equipment.
This Team Leader role requires the post holder to be a fully qualified or experienced Technician across the range of duties. Flexibility with hours is essential to cover twilight shifts between 2pm and 10pm, ensuring adequate support.
The role includes assisting the Production Coordinator with monitoring production and maintaining procedures and quality standards in line with the quality management system.
Providing first-line management support to the team, addressing staffing and production issues promptly to ensure service needs are met.
Offering technical support to the team as needed, with support from the Production Coordinators as required.
