An exciting opportunity has arisen for the position of Sterile Services Team Leader working at the RSUH, with cover also provided at the County site as required. This is a fully flexible role, and shift patterns may be changed at short notice.
The post holder will work on a rota basis for 22.5 hours a week, with the remaining hours as a Band 2 Sterile Services Technician. Shift Patterns:
Predominantly working days from 6am to 2pm.
On-call and bank holiday working on rota as required. Pay scale - Band 4, plus enhancement pay after 20:00 as per Agenda for Change terms and conditions.
The successful candidates will join an environment that is practical, busy, and interesting, offering a valuable part of the North Midlands Health Service.
The Hospital Sterilisation and Disinfection Unit services include the supply and maintenance of surgical instruments used in procedures. These items are checked in after use, cleaned, disinfected, packaged, sterilised, and delivered back to theatres, wards, departments, clinics, and GP surgeries. The role involves manual handling of heavy sets, pushing and pulling trolleys, and operating equipment used in the processing cycle.
This Team Leader role requires the post holder to be a fully qualified or experienced Technician across the range of duties. Flexibility with hours is needed to cover twilight shifts between 2pm - 10pm to ensure support.
The role includes assisting the Production Coordinator with monitoring production and ensuring procedures and quality standards are maintained in line with the quality management system.
Providing first-line management support to the team, handling staffing and production issues efficiently to meet service needs.
Offering technical support to the team as needed, with support from the Production Coordinators as required.
