Job summary

North Bristol NHS is seeking a Decontamination Technician to join the CSSD Decontamination Team at Southmead Hospital. No prior experience is required as full training will be provided. The role involves cleaning, inspecting and sterilising medical equipment to support safe patient care.

You will be detail oriented, reliable and able to work in a busy team, with all necessary training provided and opportunities for apprenticeship and career progression within Decontamination Services.

Responsibilities

• Clean, inspect and decontaminate medical equipment and instruments.
• Pack and prepare instruments for sterilisation.
• Operate computerised tracking and barcode systems.
• Follow infection prevention, quality and safety procedures.
• Stand for extended periods and lift/bend as needed.
• Work flexibly across a range of shifts.
