Job summary

University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a CSSD decontamination technician to support the Central Sterile Services Department. The role involves receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing and sterilisation of reusable medical devices, with duties recorded in the tracking and tracing database.

The post holder will receive on-the-job training, work as part of a team, and communicate effectively within a shift pattern covering Monday to Friday 7:45–13:45,

Qualifications

• Receipt, disassembly, cleaning, reassembly, packing and sterilisation of reusable medical devices.
• Record all tasks in the tracking and tracing database.
• On the job training will be provided to carry out duties safely.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the cleanliness and correctness of equipment.
• Participate in packing of surgical instruments, soft packs and theatre packs.
• Learn about safety and operation of machinery used in the department.
• Carry out daily tests on department machinery and ensure safe use of heat-sealing equipment.
