Job summary

NCIC is seeking a Decontamination Technician (Band 2) at Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. The role is 2 x 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 12:00–18:00, part-time, pro rata salary around £25,272 per annum.

You will work in the decontamination service for theatres, endoscopy, and wards, gaining training toward a nationally recognised qualification. The post involves cross-site work and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• TC2 in Decontamination or equivalent.
• IT skills expected.

Responsibilities

• Reprocess reusable medical devices and flexible endoscopes per manufacturers’ instructions.
• Provide guidance and training support to trainee Decontamination Technicians.
• Meet department workload with high-quality standards as measured by checks and reports.
• Follow manual handling and procedures for instrument handling.
• Carry out decontamination duties across the department as required.
