Job summary

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is seeking a Decontamination Technician to join the Decontamination Department. The role involves cleaning and decontaminating Endoscopes and related equipment for multiple specialties and surgical instrumentation, with monitoring/validation of equipment and use of PPE.

You will work across the department with a flexible rota that includes weekends and bank holidays, and the role may include on-call duties.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths & English at grade C or above.
• Educated to NVQ level 3 in relevant discipline or equivalent.
• Experience in a Decontamination Unit is desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and decontaminate Endoscopes and related equipment.
• Monitor and validate equipment used in decontamination processes.
• Wear and use PPE when handling bodily fluids and chemicals.
• Work across the department including weekends and bank holidays; participate in the rota.
• On-call duties may be required.
