Job summary

Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting a Decontamination Technician to join the established decontamination service at Walsall Manor Hospital. You will help clean and decontaminate surgical instruments and endoscopes, ensuring sterilisation standards across multiple specialties.

You will work across 7 days on a 24-hour rota, including weekends and bank holidays, wearing appropriate PPE while performing monitoring, validation and quality assurance tasks in a busy hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Cleaning and decontamination of surgical instrumentation and endoscopes.
• Monitoring and validation of decontamination equipment.
• Ability to work across 7 days/24 hours on a rota.
• Wearing of personal protective equipment.

Responsibilities

• Main duties include cleaning and decontamination of surgical instrumentations and endoscopes for several specialties.
• Monitoring and validation of equipment used in the decontamination process.
• Quality assurance, tracking and tracing, loan set processing, stocking and ordering.
• Work across 7 days across 24 hours including weekends and bank holidays.
