Job summary

North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Decontamination Technician (Band 2) for Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle. The role involves decontaminating reusable surgical instruments and endoscopes, with on-site training and a nationally recognised qualification after training.

The post runs Mon-Fri 12pm-6pm, with potential cross-site work. Candidates should have Maths and English and be prepared to follow infection control and training programs. DBS checks apply.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
• IT skills helpful for documentation and systems.
• TC2 in Decontamination or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Reprocess reusable medical devices and flexible endoscopes per manufacturers instructions.
• Provide training support to trainee Decontamination Technicians.
• Meet department workload with high quality standards as checked by in-process checks and non-conformances.
