Job summary

Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust is recruiting for STEP pharmacists to support a dynamic, rotational pharmacy service across base hospitals within South East London. The programme includes a funded Postgraduate Diploma in General Practice Pharmacy at UCL or equivalent, to ensure fit-for-practice and high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the delivery of a comprehensive pharmacy service and provide operational support to the department as agreed in the rotational programme.
• Undertake the Postgraduate Diploma in General Practice Pharmacy at UCL (or equivalent) to meet NHS requirements and provide high quality patient care.
• Dispense and check outpatient and inpatient prescriptions, including clinical trials and chemotherapy, with effective clinical screening and patient counselling.
• Participate in dispensary audits, QA activities, and update SOPs as required.
• Contribute to Medicines Information services and education within the department.
• Engage in ward-based pharmacy services, ensure accurate drug histories and reconciliation, and monitor drug safety and interactions.
