Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking Step-Forward Foster Carers to provide a safe, supportive home for children exiting residential care. You will welcome a child or siblings, offering stability, routine and guidance within a loving family setting.

Applicants should have the right to work in the UK and, ideally, experience supporting children, especially those with complex needs. The role includes specialist training and 24/7 wraparound support.

Qualifications

• We welcome enquiries from individuals and/or couples who meet the eligibility criteria.
• Applicants must have the legal Right to Work in the United Kingdom.
• Ideally, experience supporting children or young people, especially with complex needs or challenging behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Full-time care for a child or sibling group moving from residential care.
• Provide stability, routine and reassurance within a nurturing home.
• Support the child’s emotional, behavioural and social development.
• Work closely with social workers, therapists and other professionals.
• Keep clear records and provide therapeutic, relationship-based care.
