Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking Step-Forward Foster Carers to welcome a child or siblings into a supportive, family environment. You will provide stability, routine and nurturing care, helping children heal from trauma and remain close to their communities and schools.

You’ll work with social workers and therapists, receiving specialist training and 24/7 wraparound support, with paid allowances and a retainer pre-placement.

Qualifications

• Ages 21 or over
• Right to work in the United Kingdom
• Full-time care commitment
• Spare bedroom(s) for fostering
• Experience with children or adults with complex needs is helpful

Responsibilities

• Provide full-time care for a child or sibling group
• Offer stability, routine and a nurturing home
• Support emotional, behavioural and social development
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists and professionals
• Keep clear records and provide therapeutic, relationship-based care
• Facilitate family relationships through Family Time
