Job summary

Cheshire East Council is seeking Step-Forward Foster Carers to welcome a child or siblings into a loving home. You will provide stability, routine and emotional support, working closely with social workers and therapists to promote development.

Training and supervision are provided, with a 50% retainer pre-placement and weekly allowances. The role emphasizes safeguarding, community ties and ongoing support, enabling carers to make a meaningful difference in a young person’s life while meeting

Qualifications

• Must be aged 21 or over (no upper age limit).
• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Able to provide full-time care for a child or children.
• Must have a spare bedroom(s) for fostering.
• Experience supporting children or adults with complex needs is welcome.

Responsibilities

• Full-time care for a child or sibling group from residential care.
• Provide stability, routine, and reassurance within a nurturing home.
• Support the child’s emotional, behavioural, and social development.
• Collaborate with social workers, therapists and other professionals.
• Maintain clear records and provide therapeutic, relationship-based care.
• Enable Family Time to maintain family relationships.
