Job summary

AWD online is seeking a Steelwork Project Manager / Contracts Manager in Leeds, West Yorkshire, with nationwide travel. Full-Time, Permanent role focusing on end-to-end project and contract delivery in structural and secondary steelwork.

You will coordinate programmes, commercial controls and stakeholder communication across office and site teams. Responsibilities include managing contracts, cost control, subcontractor management and ensuring compliance with quality, health & safety and

Qualifications

• Experience in construction industry with steelwork projects.
• Experience managing projects/contracts within structural and/or secondary steelwork.
• Knowledge of contractual documentation, contract law and forms of contract.
• Basic quantity surveying and change management skills; negotiation strategy.
• Strong communication with customers, stakeholders and internal teams; accurate data handling.

Responsibilities

• Project and Contract Delivery: Manage contracts efficiently, maintain programmes and take corrective action.
• Cost and Change Control: Manage costs, contracts invoices and variations.
• Contract Documentation: Review orders, bonds and warranties; keep records current.
• Subcontractor Management: Process subcontract orders on time and within budget.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain customer communication; circulate meeting minutes and issues.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure QA, H&S and environmental compliance; prepare risk assessments.
• Site and Programme Coordination: Coordinate site visits and delivery against programme.
• Cross-Functional Coordination: Liaise with drawing office and production; maintain MIS data.
