Job summary

Stafforce Recruitment is seeking a Mill Team Worker for a steel mill in Sheffield. The role covers day and night shifts with varied hours. You will assist with mill set ups, support safe plant operation, and help meet production targets while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Key duties include assisting with setup changes, scrap removal, and basic maintenance support. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success.

Responsibilities

• Assist with mill set ups during size/pass changes.

• Perform mill duties and assist as needed in a safe manner.
• Liaise with Supervisor/Team on production issues and maintenance.
• Carry out first line maintenance when required.
• Undertake other duties as necessary, safely.

Job: Steel Mill

Location: Sheffield

Hours: Monday to Thursday, 10 hours days & nights

Days - 6am-4pm

Nights - M-W, 8pm-6am, T 4pm-2am

Pay: £12.93 + 15% Shift Allowance

The Job

A Mill Team Worker will be responsible for carrying out all operation activities in the mill area while ensuring the strictest of Health and Safety processes.

Duties

The main responsibilities include:

• To assist with mill set ups, during size/pass changes.
• To assist the Roller Operative to ensure that plant operation is performed in a safe and efficient manner
• Work to complete the production in accordance with the planned output
• To cut and remove scrap.
• To perform all required mill duties as necessary.
• Liaise with Supervisor/Team regarding production issues and plant maintenance requirements.
• To perform first line maintenance as required.
• Assist and undertake other duties as necessary in a safe manner
• Carry out manual handling of product, tools, machinery etc. In a safe manner
