Job summary

Nicholas Associates Group in Sheffield is seeking a General Operative to join the mill team. You will support mill setup, assist with safety-focused plant operation, and help achieve planned production targets.

The role requires good communication, manual handling skills and a team-oriented approach. Shift pattern includes days and nights with a mix of 10-hour shifts, and a strong emphasis on Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

To assist with mill set ups, during size/pass changes.
To assist the Roller Operative to ensure that plant operation is performed in a safe and efficient manner
Work to complete the production in accordance with the planned output
To cut and remove scrap.
To perform all required mill duties as necessary.
Liaise with Supervisor/Team regarding production issues and plant maintenance requirements.
To perform first line maintenance as required.
Assist and undertake other duties as necessary in a safe manner
Carry out manual handling of product, tools, machinery etc. In a safe manner
