Job summary

Acorn by Synergie is seeking experienced steel fixers for a commercial construction site in Exeter. This 3-month contract offers the opportunity to work on high-quality projects with consistent hours from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.

The role requires proven steel fixing experience and a Blue CSCS card, with PPE and tools provided on site. The position may extend into longer-term work after the initial phase is complete.

Qualifications

• Proven steel fixing experience in construction projects.
• Ability to read construction drawings for reinforcement layouts.
• Blue CSCS card is required.

Steel Fixer

Introduction

Acorn by Synergie is recruiting multiple experienced steel fixers to join a commercial construction site in Exeter. This is a 3 month contract offering the chance to work on high-quality commercial projects.

Key Duties

• Reading and interpreting construction drawings to identify required reinforcement layouts.
• Cutting, bending, and shaping steel bars and mesh in line with project specifications.
• Accurately positioning steel reinforcement within formwork prior to concrete pours, ensuring correct placement and alignment.
• Securing reinforcement using tying wire, clamps, or welding methods to maintain strength and stability.

Requirements

• Proven steel fixing experience within the construction industry.
• Blue cscs card
• Reliable, consistent, and strong work ethic.
