Job summary

System Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced Steel Draughtsman CAD Designer for a permanent role in the Luton area, specialising in architectural metalwork and structural steel. You will produce AutoCAD and Tekla GA and section drawings, detailing connections and fabrication drawings.

The role involves liaising with engineers and architects, drawing balconies, stairs, railings and other mild steel components for new build flats and houses, and managing drawing files and material lists.

Qualifications

• Experience as Steel Draughtsman/CAD Designer or similar
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Tekla for GA and section drawings
• Knowledge of architectural metalwork and structural steel would be advantageous
• Able to work in a commutable distance to Luton area or relocate

Long established fabrication firm, operating in the construction sector, are looking to recruit an experienced Steel Draughtsman CAD Designer, CAD Technician, Steel Draughtsman, CAD Designer working in Architectural Metalwork.

This position will involve liaising with client's engineers and architects and then creating steel drawings using AutoCAD and/or Tekla drawing software. Mostly working with mild steel on new build flats and houses, the role will include drawing balconies, staircases, structural steel, railings etc.

Steel Draughtsman CAD Designer - Duties will include:

• Creating AutoCAD and/or Tekla G.A. and section drawings of architectural and structural steelwork
• Detailing connections
• Producing detailed fabrication drawings
• Liaising with Architects and Structural Engineers
• Drawing file management and drawing registers
• Creating material and bolt lists

The role will suit individuals currently working as a Steel Draughtsman CAD Designer, CAD Technician, Draughtsman, Draughtswoman and be living within a commutable distance of Luton, Dunstable, Harpenden, Hitchin, Leighton Buzzard, Milton Keynes, Aylesbury or be willing to relocate.
