Job summary

Pro Steel Engineering is seeking a proactive Quantity Surveyor to manage the commercial and contractual aspects of steel projects from pre-contract through to final account, ensuring profitability and strict budget control.

You will prepare cost plans and budgets, oversee subcontractor procurement, handle valuations and payments, and produce CVR reports while working closely with Project Managers and site teams to keep costs on track.

Qualifications

• Quantity Surveyor experience in construction/engineering, steel projects preferred.
• Strong commercial and financial awareness.
• Knowledge of standard forms of contract (JCT/NEC).
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficient in Excel and commercial reporting.
• Experience working on structural steel or fabrication projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost plans, budgets, and cash flow forecasts
• Manage subcontractor procurement, valuations, and payments
• Produce monthly cost/value reconciliation (CVR) reports
• Monitor project costs and identify risks and opportunities
• Prepare and agree variations, change control, and final accounts
• Support contract administration and ensure compliance with contract terms
• Work closely with Project Managers and site teams to control costs
