Job summary

Pole Star Group is seeking an Asset Inspector (STE5 Examiner) to carry out on-site visual and detailed inspections of railway buildings, depots and stations to NR standards NR/L3/CIV/006. You will report to the Examinations Manager and ensure work is completed safely and on time.

Essential qualifications include STE5 competency, PTS/IWA cert, and strong communication skills, with a full UK driving licence and Computer literacy. Hybrid working available with London presence.

• Valid STE5 competency.
• Valid PTS / IWA certificate.
• Good understanding of materials, defects and risk scoring.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Computer literate.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Punctual and reliable.

Responsibilities

Asset Inspector (STE5 Examiner)

Asset Inspect is a fast‑growing inspection division helping clients inspect and manage their assets using our in‑house software. As an STE5 Examiner you will carry out visual and detailed inspections on railway buildings, depots and stations (fabric and M&E). You will report directly to the Examinations Manager and ensure inspections are completed safely, to a high standard, and within the required timescale.
