Workplace: ITV Media City, Manchester - expectation is one day a week in the office.

The team

You will work within the Group Finance Controllership team reporting to the Head of Controllership, alongside 3 other Financial Controllers and a Statutory Reporting team. We work closely with Group Reporting and Consolidation teams and have collaborators within the wider business.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join our Group Reporting team on a permanent basis in Manchester. We’re happy to offer this role on a hybrid basis, and welcome applications from candidates outside of Manchester.

As Financial Controller, you’ll report into the Head of Controllership and will be responsible for the financial integrity of the statutory entities within M&E, ensuring all period end and local legal and regulatory deadlines are met. This role will own the integrity of the balance sheet, P&L and legal entity financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of the integrity of subsidiary Financial Documents, including meticulous balance sheet and income statement analysis in accordance with financial standards.
• Complete monthly Balance Sheet Reviews with the RTR team and bi-annual reviews with the M&E FBPs.
• Ongoing review and development of processes and controls around monthly and annual reporting of M&E legal entities.
• Work with the Head of Technical Accounting to settle appropriate accounting driven from changes in accounting standards and/or policy changes and feedback to the business as required.
• Work closely with Business Finance teams on business change initiatives and advise on implications of technical accounting standards.
• Ensure all Group policies (including accounting, tax and treasury) and key controls are adhered to; follow up all agreed Internal Audit actions.
• Assist Head of Technical Accounting to provide technical accounting expertise to the M&E division.
• Provide answers to complex statutory accounts, audit and technical queries back to the business.
• Manage ad-hoc activities such as co-ordination of internal and external audits, and requests from Finance Business Partners and the wider team.
• Support the other Financial Controllers with workload on an ad-hoc basis.

Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)

• Extensive and proven PQ experience within a Financial Control team (5+ years PQE)
• ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified accountant
• Experience in implementing internal policies and procedures and aligning with external policies such as regulatory and accounting procedures
• Proficiency in interpreting financial data to provide valuable insights, drive decision-making, and achieve desired results
• Extensive experience in month-end reporting and strong solid understanding of finance systems
• Strong relationship management skills and ability to influence decision-making among senior partners
