Our client, a global company, is on the lookout for a talented Financial Accountant to support their financial operations from their Stalybridge office. This is a newly created role due to growth.
What You'll Do:
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering accurate and timely financial reports.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Executing high-quality month-end close processes, including journal preparation and balance sheet reconciliation.
- Compiling evidence for group and operational controls in preparation for reviews.
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns.
- Collaborating with the Group Tax Department to prepare annual statutory accounts and tax compliance documentation.
- Supporting internal and external audit processes by providing necessary information.
- Assisting with accounts payable and receivable and banking processes as needed.
- Building strong relationships with colleagues across departments, including operations and sales.
- Analysing financial performance to identify risks and opportunities.
What We're Looking For:
- Previous experience in a similar role, ideally handling EMEA operations
- Proven experience in month-end close processes, VAT returns preparation, and statutory accounts preparation.
- Familiarity with internal and external auditing processes
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- An eye for detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Exceptional organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Team player mentality, eager to support fellow team members.
- ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified
