RNLI Rhyl Lifeboat Station seeks a Senior Station Technician with strong leadership and mechanical/electrical/mechanical engineering background. You will lead volunteers, train crew, and ensure the Shannon Lifeboat is maintained and ready for emergencies.
You’ll manage daily station operations, engage with the public, and drive safety culture while developing skills across seagoing duties. A valid driving licence and willingness to respond 24/7 are required.
The role of Senior Station Technician is focused for those individuals with an NVQ L4/SVQ L5 in an engineering discipline or time served engineering apprenticeship or sound background and experience in mechanical electrical or electronic engineering. If these qualifications or experience is not held then suitable individuals may be offered a Station Technician role in lieu. In either role most of your time will be spent ensuring that the Shannon Lifeboat is kept in the best possible condition. You will also ensure that the Lifeboat Station functions on a day-to-day basis. You will be involved in training volunteer crew members - so that when an emergency shout does occur, you, your crew, and your lifeboat will be absolutely prepared.
So, if you are ready for your next exciting challenge as our new Senior Station Technician at Rhyl, and if you consider yourself a natural leader, who can inspire and motivate a team of dedicated volunteers, then we are seeking you. This is an emergency response role so the successful candidates would need to live within a reasonable distance from the station and be prepared to respond to a pager 24/7 whilst on duty. This post requires a valid driving licence.
In line with our values and our commitment to supporting the development and progression of our people, this opportunity is currently only available to RNLI staff and volunteers. If we are unable to make an appointment through this process, we will consider opening the role to external applicants. #LI-DNI, Our purpose is simple: to save lives at sea. 24 hours a day, every day, RNLI lifesavers are ready to launch to the rescue. There is an opportunity at Rhyl Lifeboat Station for a Station Technician/Senior Station Technician to join the team. We respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within our teams, and consider it essential to help us deliver a world-class lifesaving service.
