Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join our expanding Rail Systems Engineering team. You will work within Telent’s dedicated team responsible for maintaining the UK rail network, serving clients such as Transport for London, Network Rail, and Train Operating Companies.

Reporting to the Lead Safety and Security Engineer, the Systems Engineer will deliver project upgrade works across infrastructure including Network Rail, TFL, and TFGM. The role involves technical responsibilities including surveys, design, and technical aspects of SISS within a rail environment.

Typical Deliverables

• Experience in system design, surveying, and technical engineering within SISS.
• Potential to lead initiatives for new products or services, including planning and designing new concepts.
• Managing ideas from initial design to production and installation.
• Creating detailed technical plans for concepts.
• Applying mathematical and scientific skills to develop practical solutions.
• Selecting appropriate materials for projects.
• Forecasting accurate project costs.
• Preparing technical and regulatory documentation.
• Ensuring quality control and overseeing the deployment of new systems or products.

Responsibilities

• Maintain in-depth knowledge of professional engineering disciplines and related areas.
• Coordinate testing of products, systems, and infrastructure.
• Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
• Develop personal engineering skills continually.

• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
