Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced Systems Engineer to join our Rail Systems Engineering team. You’ll be working on maintaining the UK rail network, supporting clients like Transport for London, Network Rail, and Train Operating Companies.

Reporting to the Lead Safety and Security Engineer, the system engineer will handle technical aspects of projects, including survey, design, and technical aspects of SISS within a Rail environment.

Typical Deliverables

  • Experience in system design, survey, and technical engineering within SISS.
  • Leading the creation of new product or service ideas and planning for new designs.
  • Managing ideas from initial design to production and installation.
  • Developing detailed technical plans.
  • Applying mathematical and scientific skills to develop real-world solutions.
  • Selecting appropriate materials for construction.
  • Forecasting project costs accurately.
  • Preparing technical and regulatory documentation.
  • Ensuring quality control and overseeing product/system deployment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining in-depth knowledge of engineering disciplines.
  • Arranging testing of products, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Ensuring project completion on time and within budget.
  • Developing personal engineering skills.
  • Solving complex problems with innovative solutions.
  • Working independently with minimal guidance.
  • Leading projects or project steps as needed.
  • Mentoring less experienced colleagues.
  • Complying with QEHS requirements.
