Job summary

AVK in Maidenhead is seeking a Design Manager to lead the Engineering team on Standby projects, ensuring design integrity from handover from sales to service and overseeing the full design lifecycle. You will manage a team of engineers, coordinate with electrical, mechanical, CAD/BIM and control systems experts, and align with operations, sales and concept design through pre-construction and delivery.

Responsibilities

Develop designs to ensure buildability and programme focus.
Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, CAD/BIM and control systems engineers to integrate components into standby projects.
Implement robust quality controls aiming for right-first-time submissions and reduce rework/delays due to B & C documents.
Identify and address design risks to EHS and longevity of works.
Monitor design costs through the project lifecycle and identify cost optimization opportunities.
Manage the design phase to ensure supply chain design meets standards and is delivered on time.
